A Rome man was arrested late Tuesday night after he got into a fight and stopped his alleged victim from making a 911 call, according to Floyd County Jail reports.

According to the reports:

Daryl James Lloyd, 61, of 115 Vanns Valley Road, admitted to punching the victim.

When Lloyd got to jail, deputies found a hydrocodone tablet and Xanax tablet on him.

Lloyd told deputies the pills did not belong to him and he did not have a current prescription.

He was charged with simple battery, interfering with a 911 call, possession of synthetic narcotics, failure to keep drugs in their original container and possession of synthetic narcotics past the guard line.

He remained in jail Wednesday night with $8,550 bond.
