Floyd County Elections Office seeking volunteer poll workers

The Floyd County Elections Office is looking for help for the 2012 election cycle and will be holding an orientation meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 24.

The office hopes that those interested in becoming poll workers for the 21-day early vioting period prior to each election day. This year’s elections will be held on March 6 for the presidential primary, July 31 for the primary election for statewide and local candidates and the general election on November 6.

The purpose of the orientation meeting is to explain the basic information about the duties of the poll workers and to answer questions people may have related to working as a poll worker. A detail training session will be planned in February for citizens interested in serving as a poll worker.

Interested citizens age 18 or older are asked to attend an orientation meeting at 11:00am, Tuesday January 24th in the Riverwalk Ballroom at the Forum. If you have questions call 706-291-5168.
