This is an opportunity to find out what is working and what is not, so you can share your experiences with the UNLOCK campaign and others, to discuss effective ways to advocate for change and find out how to get involved in the legislative session.
All parents, self-advocates, professionals who work in disability supports and services, home-providers and all those in the area who wish to get involved to help build strong communities of support for people with disabilities are asked to attend.
There are now more than 6,000 Georgians with disabilities on the waiting list to receive funding for home and community-based services. Each year, the list grows and this meeting will allow area residents to get involved and connect with others to build those communities.
Hosting the meeting is the Arc of Chattooga County and the Arc of Walker County.
It will be an old-fashioned potluck dinner and attendees are invited to bring along their favorite dishes. The Chattooga County Civic Center is located at 44 Ga. 48 in Summerville, across from BB&T Bank.
Reserve your spot by Oct. 12 by calling 706-844-2952, 423-315-6335 or 404-657-2126.
