Bill Davies, public relations coordinator for Action Ministries-Rome, visits the Shorter University campus this week and speaks to a group of Shorter Learning Community students. Davies informed students about Rome’s Action Ministries program that seeks to help homeless and financially challenged individuals break the cycle of hunger, homelessness and poverty. Most recently, Action Ministries-Rome assisted with the distribution of more than 50,000 pounds of food during Jesus in the Park, a free community event at Ridge Ferry Park. Four of Shorter’s Learning Community classes volunteered during this year’s event, helping with food distribution and special activities for children.
