Man charged with theft by taking for metal theft

A Kingston man remained in the Floyd County Jail on Thursday evening on misdemeanor theft by taking and criminal trespass charges for allegedly taking some scrap metal from a Cunningham Road address, according to reports.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Tyler Wayne Vennum, 1311 Lanham Road, told police when he was arrested on Friday afternoon that he had permission to take the scrap metal, but the owner of the residence said he did not.

The scrap metal was valued at $200.
