Washington, DC—U.S. Rep. Tom Graves (R-GA-09) issued the following statement after House Republican leaders announced that the U.S. House will vote on the Republican Study Committee’s “Cut, Cap, and Balance Act” on Tuesday, July 19, 2011:

“Since May, when members of the Republican Study Committee developed the ‘Cut, Cap, and Balance’ plan, we’ve worked tirelessly to gather support from hundreds of grassroots conservative groups, tea party-affiliated organizations, members of the U.S. Senate, and now House Republican leaders. Now we stand unified behind ‘Cut, Cap, and Balance,’ which is the only plan on the table that ends America’s debt crisis.

“This plan is about sparking private sector expansion and job growth through the certainty of a restrained federal government. The immediate and long-term spending reforms, and the permanent promise of fiscal responsibility with a Balanced Budget Amendment, put America on a glide path to solid financial footing and long-term economic prosperity.

“I congratulate tea partiers and grassroots conservatives for helping us secure a vote on ‘Cut, Cap, and Balance.’ Now it’s up to the House and Senate to show the American people that we’re up to the task of solving this debt crisis and securing a prosperous America for future generations.”
