ATLANTA (AP)-- Three Georgia congressmen are among the doctors who've launched an online petition drive urging President Barack Obama to reconsider his plan to reform Medicare.

Republican Reps. Phil Gingrey, of Marietta, Paul Broun, of Athens, and Tom Price, of Roswell, are part of the GOP Doctors Caucus, a group of 18 physicians who serve in Congress.

The petition says Obama should reconsider the proposed changes for Medicare contained in his sweeping health overhaul law. It also calls for the repeal of the Independent Payment Advisory Board, an unelected panel tasked with cutting Medicare.

Broun says the panel gives unelected bureaucrats the task of reforming the program and the power to ration health care.

Democrats argue it will cut costs in the entitlement program for seniors.
