Kiss Army is a touring band that recreates the spectacle and energy of a full-on Kiss concert, complete with identical makeup, outrageous platform boots and many of the songs that propelled Kiss to the top of the rock charts in the 70s and 80s.
Local concertgoers can expect everything from a smoking guitar to the trademark on-stage antics of “Gene Simmons” at the arena-style concert.
Concert organizers said they hope fans will wear their Kiss makeup and be ready to rock out at the DeSoto. And if concertgoers need some help in that department, face-painting artists will be at the concert to make sure fans look like their favorite KISS member.
Opening for Kiss Army will be Rome’s own blues stars the Georgia Blues Brothers as well as the winner of the Roman Roast on the River Battle of the Bands competition.
The four bands who will compete for that title this Saturday are Mr. Synyster, PerFekt Peace, Young guns and Bent in Bama.
“That’s three huge acts in one unforgettable night,” said concert organizer Sam Ridge.
The concert begins at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 21 at The DeSoto Theatre on Broad Street.
Reserved seat tickets are $20 for floor center, $15 for floor left and floor right and $15 for lower balcony.
VIP tickets are $40 and include reserved seats in the first 3 rows in front of the stage, dinner at the VIP party at Mellow Mushroom prior to the concert, and a meet and greet with Kiss Army as well as the members of the opening band.
Reserved seat tickets are available online at www.forumevents.org while general admission tickets are available at Mellow Mushroom and the DeSoto Theatre box office.
