A recent letter writer said that a preacher should be a full-time pastor. There are many churches that can not afford to pay a full-time pastor yet still need a pastor.

Also, the writer said that a preacher should be willing to take less money to go full time. If money is what motivates you then you are in the wrong business anyway when you are in the ministry.

The pastor has many duties, not just preaching just a couple of times a week. He is a counselor, teacher, leader, evangelist, visits the sick and those shut in, and leads other activities of his congregation, not to mention he is on call 24/7. It is easy to stand and say what the pastor should do if you are not in the ministry. (Some will try to tell him what to do when they won’t do anything themselves.)

It is time for God’s people to seek out the old paths and walk therein before it is too late!

Everyone has a work to do if you are saved. Do your work and let others do theirs.
