Universal Studios will be in Rome this Friday, July 6, 2012 between 5:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. to film subsidiary footage for the comedy "I.D. Theft" starring Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy, according to Ann Hortman of the Greater Rome Convention and Visitors Bureau. The film is to be released in theaters during 2013.

Romans aren't likely to see the actors downtown.

The filmmakers are not requesting road closures and there will be a minimal impact to anyone downtown, other than there may be a "fancy truck with big cameras attached, filming a car behind/beside it."

They will be simply cruising around Rome filming on our streets.

They're asking that businesses, if they can, leave their lights on in the evening for the convenience of the filmmakers.
