10:59 p.m. With 132 of 159 counties reporting Georgia voters are close to approving the charter schools constitutional amendment nearly 58 percent of the vote.

10:22 p.m. Elections Chariman Pete McDonald said there are 50-60 provisional ballots that still need to be counted and that may determine a tight clerk of courts race. The elections workers will begin counting and certifying those ballots tomorrow and it may be Friday before we know the final results.

10:09 p.m. The charter schools amendment has 57 percent of the votes with 93 of 159 counties reporting. Floyd County voted no to the ballot with 59 percent of the local vote.

10:03 p.m. With only around a 30 vote lead provisional ballots may decide the clerk of court race. Initial results show incumbent Barbara Penson winning by a slim margin. Provisional ballots are not included in the initial results.

According to the Secretary of State's website write-in candidate votes will be compiled and listed with certified results.

9:50 p.m.  Despite what looked like dismal results earlier 69.62 percent of Floyd County voters turned out to vote in the election.

9:45 p.m. With 71 of 159 counties reporting 56.81 percent of Georgians have voted yes to the charter schools amendment.

9:40 p.m. It looks like all the initial local results are in. Results show Tim Burkhalter with another term as Floyd County's Sheriff, County Commissioners Garry Fricks and Irwin Bagwell both with another term on the commission.

9:27 p.m. Initial results according to the Secretary of State's website Barbara Penson has won the clerk of court race by around 30 votes. Read more about the clerk of court race.

Eddie Lumsden is leading incumbent Barbara Massey Reece with 51.85 percent of the vote.

9:20 p.m. Floyd County's Clerk of Court Barbara Penson is still holding on to a slim lead as more votes come in with 15,079 to McAllister's 15,054. Everett Springs is in.

Republican Rep. Tom Graves of Ranger has won a second full term in the U.S. House. Graves defeated Democratic challenger Danny Grant at the polls Tuesday in north Georgia's 14th District. Unofficial returns showed Graves had 75 percent of the vote with 25 percent of precincts reporting.

9:12 p.m. In Floyd County only Everett Springs and West Lindale precincts still haven't been posted. 58.89 percent of Floyd County voters have said no the the charter schools amendment.

56 percent of Georgia voters have voted yes to the charter schools amendment at this point.

9:06 p.m. With 23 of 25 precincts reporting Barbara Penson has pulled ahead by a slim margin in the clerk of courts race with 14,997 to 14,942 votes.

8:57 p.m. Most of the results, precinct by precinct, can be found here if you're curious.

8:50 p.m.  With 22 of 25 precincts reporting: Burkhalter winning sheriff's race with 66.65 percent vote. Fricks is winning county commission post 2 with 65.19 percent. Bagwell is winning county commission post 3 with 66.22 percent. David Cox is winning the BOE district 2 with 70 percent.

Floyd County voters said no to the charter school amendment with 58.98 percent.

Floyd County voters voted yes to amendment 2 with 56.65 percent of the vote.

8:47 p.m. With 22 of 25 precincts reporting the Floyd County clerk of court race is almost neck and neck with Mark McAllister leading by a margin of less than 100 votes.

8:45 p.m. Burkhalter winning the Sheriff's race with 67 percent of the vote. Fricks winning the county commission post 2 with 65 percent of the vote.

8:39 p.m. According to the Ga. Secretary of State's page it shows with 16 of 25 precincts reporting 59 percent of Floyd voters said no to the charter schools amendment.

David Cox is winning the BOE district 2 race with 70 percent of the vote. Bagwell is winning County Commission post 3 with 67 percent of the vote.

8:36 p.m. With the majority of Ga. counties partially reporting - charter schools amendment winning with 53 percent of the vote.

8:30 p.m. 7 of 25 precincts in Floyd County reporting. Romney, Graves, Lumsden are leading in Floyd County. McAllister (Clerk of Court) is also leading at this point.

8:25 p.m. Graves leads Grant for the U.S Rep. District 14 race with over 70 percent of the vote with 45,286 votes in so far.

8:22 p.m. State results are leaning toward the charter schools amendment with 53 percent of Floyd County voters voting no,  with 7 of 25 precincts reporting.

8:18 p.m. Town Rome precinct in. Texas Valley in.

8:17 p.m. Chattooga County numbers show Barbara Massey Reece leads in the State Rep. District 12 race over Eddie Lumsden. Floyd County voters are leaning toward Lumsden.

8:15 p.m. East Rome precinct in. Vanns Valley results in.

8:12 p.m. Cave Spring and East Lindale results in.

8:09 p.m. Incumbent Barbara Massey Reece leads Republican challenger Eddie Lumsden in the state rep. district 12 race by less than 300 votes. The margin in slim with only 100 or so votes separating the two candidates.

8 p.m. Floyd County results have started coming in. Alto Park precinct is showing votes for Mitt Romney, Tom Graves and Mark McAllister for Clerk of Court. Alto Park voters have voted against the charter school amendment with 55 percent against the amendment. Alto Park precinct voters have also voted for Brian Cox for Board of Education district 2.

7:55 p.m.  Tom Graves is leading Democratic challenger Danny Grant in the U.S. Representative District 14 race with 75.38 percent of the vote with only 6,556 votes reported.

7:50 p.m. No Floyd County results yet but with 1/3 of Georgia counties partially reporting the race is still very close for the charter schools constitutional amendment with 50.95 percent voting for the constitutional amendment.

7:28 p.m. With results trickling in across the state Georgians are leaning heavily toward Romney in the presidential race and are divided for the charter schools amendment leaning toward passing the amendment with 51 percent of the vote so far.
