UPDATE: Storm causing power outages, fallen trees

A storm system moving through Floyd County is causing power outages and has downed some trees.

A spokesman with Floyd County 911 said power outages were being reported across the county and there were numerous downed trees.

Lynn Wallace, a spokeswoman with Georgia Power, said 150 customers in the West 11th Street area are without power and should be restored in 20 minutes. A tree was reported to have fallen on a line.

During the height of the afternoon storm, 512 customers were without power.
