A Silver Creek man was arrested Wednesday on warrants accusing him of fleeing from police, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Stephen Douglas Arp, 30, of 489 Compton Road, was charged with felony possession of arms by a convicted felon, misdemeanor driving on a suspended license, misdemeanor fleeing or attempting to elude police, misdemeanor driving on a suspended license and a probation violation.

When police attempted to stop Arp’s vehicle on June 2 shortly before 1 a.m. near the intersection of Barker Road and Beacon Drive, Arp fled for about a half-mile before running away on foot. Police found a .22-caliber pistol in the trunk. The vehicle had a suspended registration, and Arp’s license was suspended.

Bail was not set for Arp on Wednesday night
