The 9-and-younger Rome Red Sox continued their run in the Dizzy Dean district tournament Monday with an 18-10 win against the Oregon Park Sharks.

The two teams tallied 29 hits in the game which ran six innings.

The Red Sox had 19 hits including seven extra base hits.

The team jumped out to an early lead scoring nine runs in the first inning on an RBI single by Conner Hughes, two wild pitches, a two-run single by Owen Henderson, a two-run single by Chase Gresham, a steal by Gresham and a triple by Griffin Kenellos.

The Red Sox continue District play today with a rematch against Bartow Blue which gave the Red Sox their only loss in the tournament.

The game begins at 6:30 p.m. A win will set up a game at 8:30 p.m. for the district championship.
