The Double Day Nationals defeated SCRA, 12-5, on Monday behind both bat and arm of Chandler Bridges in the Dizzy Dean state tournament in Rock Springs.

Bridges had two RBIs on three hits for the Nationals. He also homered in the first inning and singled in the second and fifth innings.

SCRA managed just one hit off Bridges, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out six during his three innings of work.

Six runs in the opening three innings allowed the Nationals to easily put away SCRA. An RBI single by Jayce Bannister, a two-run homer by Bridges in the first inning, a solo home run by Garret Howelland, and a two-run home run by Bannister during the second inning supplied the early offense.

The Nationals hit five home runs in the win. Additional home runs for the Nationals came when Jay Hamby homered in the fifth inning and Tyler Lyles homered in the sixth inning.

Six hitters combined for 10 hits, 11 RBIs and 10 runs scored for the Nationals.

The team added five more runs in the top of the fifth. Lyles brought home Austin Vines with a single. That was followed up by Hamby’s two-run home run, scoring Lyles. Paul Padgett V hit a hard line drive down the first-base line to wrap things up for the team.
