Wings Over North Georgia air show officials today announced that nationally syndicated Country radio American Patriot, James “Mr. Moby” Carney has been confirmed to emcee the Friday Performers Welcome Kick-Off Party and evening show activities at the 2012 Wings Over North Georgia Air Show. The show, featuring the Canadian Forces Snowbirds along with a stellar lineup of performers and on-ground activities, will be held at the Richard B. Russell (Towers Field) Regional Airport in Rome, Georgia September 28-30.

Moby will also conduct his “Moby In The Morning” radio show live on Friday morning, September 28 at the airport and sing the United States’ National Anthem during the opening ceremony flag jumps on Saturday, July 29.

With 25 years of being rated as the top morning DJ in Dallas, Houston, and Atlanta, Moby has earned a reputation as one of the nation’s greatest DJs. His funny, loving, and sincere “Moby in the Morning Show” helps people from all around the United States “get back to their roots” and gives everyone a friendly place to turn on the radio dial, regardless of their home address.

Moby is a five-time winner of Billboard’s Major Market Country Morning Show, has been named the Academy of Country Music’s Major Market DJ of the Year, and has been nominated twice as Major Market Morning Show of the Year by the Country Music Association. Moby has also been inducted into both the Georgia Radio Hall of Fame and the Country DJ Hall of Fame. He is recognized for promoting strong family values and working diligently to connect to listeners all over the country.

We know he will be nothing short of amazing.” The Wings Over North Georgia Air Show is being produced by JLC AirShow Management, which specializes in producing premium air shows and related events. The company is based at their new corporate facility in Rome, Georgia at the Richard B. Russell Regional Airport.

In addition to Moby, Wings Over North Georgia has also added the Kurt Thomas Band. Kurt Thomas, winner of Kenny Chesney’s Next Big Star and CMT’s Music City Madness, will play at Friday night’s Performs Kickoff Party. Born and raised in Dahlonega, Georgia; Thomas developed his musical talents under country music legend, Randy Travis. He has worked his way up to open for some of the biggest stars in country music today including Kenny Chesney, Little Big Town, Sugarland, Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Zac Brown Band. Thomas is currently benefitting from his latest album, “Six Strings and a Prayer.” Thomas joins the previously announced Country recording artist Aaron Tippin, who will headline the Friday night show with his CAF Red-White & Loud Tour concert.

The Ladies of Liberty have also been recently announced as new additions to the air show performers. The nationally recognized singing troupe dedicated to performing the Andrews Sisters style of music through their own rendition of vocals, costumes & hairstyles will perform around the venue throughout the weekend. They will join Mr. Moby on Saturday morning by singing the Canadian Forces Snowbirds military jet team’s National Anthem during the opening ceremony flag jumps.
