It is estimated that about $5,000 was raised to benefit the William S. Davies Homeless Shelter but final numbers will not be available until later in the week, said Sarah Husser, one of the organizers of the event.
The Davies Shelter is a community-funded, faith-based homeless shelter for men over the age of 18. The shelter also assists with other needs such as substance abuse counseling, clothing, housing applications and job and career counseling.
The shelter, located on South Broad Street, has been open since 2003.
Children competed in two divisions — ages 7 to 9 and ages 10 to 14 — as they swam, road their bikes and ran.
The juniors, aged 7 to 9, completed a 50-yard lake swim across Antioch Lake West, a 2.4-mile bike ride down Texas Valley Road and a half-mile run through the recreation area.
The seniors, aged 10 to 14, swam 100 yards, biked 4.8 miles and ran one mile.

The Tri for the Shelter Olympics, a one-mile swim, a 25-mile bike ride and a six-mile run, took place on Saturday.
The Tri For The Shelter Triathlons are two of eight fundraising races presented by RACE Rome and Rome Orthopedic Center.
