The three-night event allowed youth to worship and testify about their faith.
The event, which aims to bring youth together to share their Christian testimonies, will take place in Rome at the Coosa Valley Fairgrounds July 26-28.
There will also be live music and dramas. There is no admission charge.
Perri’s father, Curtis Costley, is a longtime friend of Rome resident Lynn Dempsey. When he told Dempsey about the Carrollton event, he decided it would be great for Rome.
“This is a great opportunity for our youth who have very strong faith to reach out to others who may not,” Dempsey said.
The event is open to all churches and denominations.
“The more the merrier,” Dempsey said.
Curtis Costley said he has reached out to several churches in Floyd County and Polk County and expects to reach more.
“This is our second one and we are learning as we go,” Curtis Costley said.
At the Carrollton event, 45 people between the ages of 10 and 21 gave their testimony over three nights, Curtis Costley said.
“It’s reenergizing and refreshing young people,” he said.
For Perri Costley, 17, the event was life changing.
“It got me over the fear of public speaking,” Perri Costley said. “I think it’s kind of scary to talk about your feelings and beliefs and put yourself out there on a comfortable level.”
