The Georgia Legal Services Program offers free legal representation in certain civil matters to low income households. Walk-in hours at the Floyd County Superior courthouse begin at noon Friday on the first floor. Representation for Family Violence Temporary Protective Orders, public housing issues, mortgage foreclosures, food stamp, Medicaid, TANF issues, unemployment benefit appeals, name changes, birth certificate problems and school suspensions/expulsions are accepted.
