Rome man charged with child molestation, sexual battery

A Rome man was arrested Friday afternoon on several sex-related charges, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Raul Lopez Santamaria, 32, of 3048 Callier Springs Road, is charged with aggravated sexual battery, sexual battery and aggravated child molestation.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement has also placed a hold on Santamaria, who remained in jail on Friday night.

romanbybirth Amen! Rome News-Tribune, I would appreciate more news on this animal. Will he be deported and how soon? Has he been released? It would be nice to see more updates on stories like this. Thanks!

You are not specifying what it is that you think got me riled. Not really riled at all. Just get sick of the warped mentality of people saying "I hope this pervert gets what he has coming in jail". This seems to be the standard warped comment on child molesters. I have no sympathy towards child molesters but really would not want my children around those such as yourself with this also warped mentality.

I'm certainly not the one that could hand out judgment on them because if it was my child I would probably want to kill them myself. But to say turn their punishment over to another convict and say "I hope this pervert gets what he has coming in jail" is just as about as sick as what he did to the child. People are NOT placed in prison to be punished by other prisoners. Any one that condones that regardless of their status in life are suspect themselves.

wow. i bet mipoco and voter were (or currently still are) cell-mates! and btw mip, nice mouth ya got on ya there. sounds really intelligent. but putting it in text language abbreviation makes it seem smarter right? loser. get a job or get out on work release. do something other than portraying yourself to be a complete buffoon. as i said at the beginning......wow!

If they had done what they should have done 4 years ago, when he was charged with almost the same crime then another child WOULD NOT BE HURT NOW......

Wow that really got you all riled up huh Mipco...keep talking big from the safety of your lair b/c that is the only place you will ever have the balls to make the comments you make. P.S. You being wrong had everything to do with you bumping your gums about someone being raped (that was never insinuated in my comment). That is the conclusion that your filthy mind jumped to. Besides I really could careless what you comment, it will not ever change the fact that this person is a low life. Beside I knew that you or Voter one would have to make a comment on my first comment and that was the whole point. So that hopefully more people will read this article and see this mans name and he can receive the negative attention he so deserves.

RomanBorn then try saying EXACTLY what you mean or perhaps just STFU. On the other hand if your intent is to play guessing games and to leave us guessing then let us guess and STFU. That, "being raped", was and is my guess. If that was the incorrect answer then provide us with YOUR GUESS (I'm betting you have no idea what your thought was) or just STFU.

Sorry Mip, but your wrong again. I have the unfortunate advantage of knowing this one impeticular quite well and he has done this before and will do it again if trusted. He is not the victim, has not ever been and does not deserve the pity of folks such as yourself that do not truly know what you are talking about. Think about a true victim before you start defending perverts. Just like all humans these creeps should exhibit a little thing called self control, regardless of any unfortunate circumstances that have happend in their life. Until you know the circumstances of a situation Mipco maybe you should just jam that foot a little futher up your mouth since that is where it seems to like to stay. I don't think anywhere in my post I put aything about this man being raped, but thanks for pointing out once again that you like to take things out of context and showing were your mind truly is. It never fails that someone say that. Didn't I read somewhere that these people generally do these perverted things as a result of having it done to them as children? Sorry but hearing of anyone being raped anytime does not turn me on. That is not even representative of legal justice in our country. What country might it be legal punishment?

I hope this pervert gets what he has coming in jail. Also, I hope he is sent back to Mexico so he can rot in a Mexican prison instead of the luxury of a U.S prison.
