Rome Braves' offense sputters in loss

Limited to only three hits, the Rome Braves were shut out by the West Virginia Power on Thursday night 3-0 on the road.

The Power took a 2-0 lead in the second inning against Braves starter Dan Jurik.

Phillip Irwin (6-3) got the win, while Jurik (1-1) took the loss. Jurik threw five innings, struck out two and gave up four hits and three runs.

Joseph Terdoslavich, Christian Bethancourt and Bobby Rauh were the three hitters for the Braves. Terdoslavich’s hit was a double.

The Rome Braves begin their final series of the season Friday night against Lexington at 7 p.m.
