The KFC restaurant in LaFayette has closed its doors, leaving 15 employees without jobs.

According to Erskine White, human resources spokesman for Fulenwider Enterprises, the business closed because it was unable to meet KFC Corp.’s facility requirements.

Michael Fulenwider purchased the franchise in 1998 and the KFC was in LaFayette for 12 years, he said.

The building is now for sale, White said.

White said KFC Corp. made Fulenwider Enterprises shut its doors permanently after months of negotiations concerning corporate facilities requirements.
