UNION CITY, Ga. (AP)-- Officials in Union City say a 2-month-old puppy found hog-tied and restrained with zip-ties behind a Walmart store has been adopted.

Union City police officer Luther Lewis says the dog was extremely dehydrated when he found him.

Police were alerted to the situation after receiving a 911 call from someone reporting a puppy crying in the bushes.

Lewis has been taking care of the puppy, called Wally, with the help of a veterinary clinic in Union City.

The person who adopted the puppy has not been identified.
