ATLANTA (AP)-- Georgia Bureau of Investigation officials say an armed woman who got in a confrontation with police near a Delta Airlines Inc. facility died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

GBI spokesman John Bankhead identified the woman Tuesday as 55-year-old Caren Archer, of McDonough. Bankhead says Archer went to the Delta Technical Operations Center on Monday where her husband works after threatening him.

Bankhead says at least one officer fired at Archer after she drove past a security checkpoint in her car. He says the bullet found in Archer's chest matched the caliber of her gun and not the gun used by the officer.

No one else was injured in the incident.
