A Rome woman was awakened by a knock on her Pennington Avenue door at 3 a.m. She opened the door to see three Rome police officers.

“They asked me if I could come out and look at my car,” Mary Braziel said Monday.

Braziel found her white 2005 Chrysler 300 and 1999 Ford Taurus had been covered in gold, silver and white spray paint. Gas had been poured on the ground around the Chrysler, she said, but had not been ignited.

The vehicles had been painted with profanity and two other vehicles belonging to neighbors had been damaged.

Braziel said someone broke into her home earlier.

She is offering a reward to someone who can offer information that will result in the conviction of the individuals who vandalized her vehicles. Anyone with information can call 706-236-4546.
