The City of Cave Spring said the reason for the outage is to complete the chlorination process for the new 12-inch line that was recently installed.
The line begins at Craven Street and ends at Buttermilk Road. Sunday’s disruption will likely last from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
On Monday, starting at 7 a.m., the pressure will be low to none, but according to the city billing clerk Jessi Jones it will only “last until noon if everything goes as planned.”
Bad weather could delay the work.
Monday’s work is to clean and flush the line after the chlorination process to prepare it for permanent use starting on Wednesday.
“Customers should prepare to have low pressure all week as we are chlorinating, testing and permanently opening new lines that have been installed during this project,” said Jones. “Again, we at the city apologize for any inconvenience this has caused to customers and their families.”
